Ron Desantis for President 2024

www.nytimes.com

I smell a rat. The article said: > “All those theories that were put out did not prove to be true,” Mr. DeSantis said in response to a reporter’s question after a campaign event at a brewery in Northeast Iowa. But did not say what the reporter's question was. Why not? Later in the article, it has another quote saying Maduro didn't steal the election, but no context as to what he was asked. . > “It was not an election that was conducted the way I think that we want to, but that’s different than saying Maduro stole votes or something like that,” he said. “Those theories, you know, proved to be unsubstantiated.” As I have said before, I am a DeSantis fan, but view the fact Florida still uses voting machines a deal breaker. But I am very suspect of this New York Times article. Has anybody seen a video?

RT @RonDeSantis@twitter.com: “To the Left, citizenship is meaningless. Illinois is now letting illegal aliens become police officers. In Florida, we took action to combat the harms of Biden’s border crisis. We also value our citizen officers who serve and protect our communities. As President, I will restore American sovereignty. No illegal alien should have authority over any American citizen. It is a sad commentary on the state of America that this is even a debate. Grounded in his unshakeable belief in America’s founding principles, Governor DeSantis has enacted a bold agenda to transform Florida into a blueprint for the Nation’s revival. Governor DeSantis has delivered win after win on conservative priorities: Saving livelihoods from job-killing lockdowns and vaccine mandates Protecting citizens from the harmful impacts of Biden’s border crisis by enacting E-Verify and other bold policies against illegal immigration, such as banning sanctuary cities Defending parental rights and eliminating CRT Defunding DEI bureaucracy in higher ed and holding tenured professors accountable Waging war on woke power-grabs like ESG and central bank digital currency Enacting the strongest medical freedom laws in the nation Turning Florida into a model for election integrity Protecting the unborn Standing up for the 2nd Amendment by making Florida a constitutional carry state Expanding education freedom Prohibiting land purchases by the CCP and related individuals and entities Lowering prescription drug costs Holding woke corporations and school unions accountable Creating a universal school choice program Delivering record-breaking tax relief Helping families achieve the American dream of homeownership Supporting law enforcement and our veterans Enacting tougher penalties for drug dealers and sex offenders Appointing seven conservative justices to the Florida Supreme Court ...and so much more. After leading Florida with common sense and conviction throughout his first term, DeSantis delivered a record-setting victory of nearly 20 points in 2022. He earned his second term by the largest raw vote margin in state history, winning by more than 1.5 million votes. But history didn’t stop there: Governor DeSantis flipped Miami-Dade County red, winning the majority-Hispanic urban county by double digits. Conventional wisdom assumed this was impossible for a Republican – as recently as 2016, Hillary Clinton won Miami-Dade County by nearly 30 points. Governor DeSantis flipped several other blue counties red, including Palm Beach County. He won 62 out of 67 counties overall. Compared to his first statewide election in 2018, Governor DeSantis was up +19% with Independents, up +30% with Hispanics, and up +9% with women. Governor DeSantis delivered a record-setting victory with battle-tested leadership, a bold policy agenda, and never backing down to corporate media or special interests. As he said at his inauguration: “When the world lost its mind – when common sense suddenly became an uncommon virtue – Florida was a refuge of sanity, a citadel of freedom for our fellow Americans and even for people around the world. In captaining the ship of state, we choose to navigate the boisterous sea of liberty rather than cower in the calm docks of despotism.” Governor DeSantis has ensured that Florida is a free and safe place to raise a family. Thanks to the governor’s leadership, Floridians enjoy a low tax burden, quality education opportunities, and a bulwark in place against the Biden Administration’s overreach and various elite power grabs that seek to force people to adopt a particular ideology. Thanks to the governor’s vision, this year’s legislative session delivered the most ambitious conservative policy victories in Florida’s history. This year, Governor DeSantis signed: Record tax relief ESG prohibitions Measures counteracting the influence of the CCP The strongest medical freedom protections in the nation. Reforms reducing the costs of medications by delivering transparency Bold higher education reforms; defunding DEI Improvements to our state’s infrastructure Tough-on-crime, law and order measures, including the death penalty for child rapists The strongest measures protecting Florida from Biden’s border crisis Reforms for paycheck protection, holding accountable wayward school unions Prohibitions on centralized digital currencies in Florida No leader has accomplished more for his state than Governor DeSantis. He is now sharing his bold vision with the country, leading a movement to deliver the Great American Comeback.

DeSantis is taking incoming on all sides: - Democrats who he has made irrelevant in Florida - Globalists who are scared they will be held accountable like Disney and do not want to see DeSantis bring eVerify in (like he has in Florida) and cut off their supply of cheap illegal labor. Heck they would have to pay their legal workforce higher wages. - Trump and his machine have launched a relentless campaign (offer false or unfair or both) on DeSantis - All the other presidential hopefuls so weak they do not present a threat to Trump and are attacking DeSantis to try and make themselves relevant.

NBC estimates that just over a quarter — 26% — of the state’s workforce resides there illegally. “The Florida Policy Institute has stated the legislation could cost Florida’s economy $12.6 billion in one year. Six industries, including construction, agriculture and services, employ an estimated 391,000 undocumented workers, or about 10% of workers in those sectors,” the outlet says. And USA Today warns, “Critics worry it will lead to a labor shortage, potentially hobbling crop harvests, home construction and the tourism industry. Some business owners say they are already struggling to find workers.” > > So, what will happen? It’s likely that there will be some labor shortages in the Sunshine State for a while. Some things will cost more. Perhaps a new resident worker permit will be created. > > But eventually, Florida will adapt and adjust. There is no shortage of American immigrants to the state, and Florida workers will ultimately be better paid as the market catches up. There will likely be a decrease in gang activity, drugs, lawlessness, and perhaps even uninsured medical and property damage costs. Elections may also become more secure.

Border: How DeSantis Will Succeed After Decades-Long Failure | RealClearPolitics “DeSantis also recognizes that systemic illegal migration into America has been a decades-long bipartisan surrender. Even so-called immigration hawks in office have failed to address this foundational issue. Unlike prior Republican politicians, including Donald Trump, DeSantis provides far more than just tough talk about the border. DeSantis On What The 2024 Primary Race Is About: ‘2024 Is The Time To Put Up Or Shut Up’ “And this has gone on across this country for far too long,” DeSantis said. “2024 is the time to put up or shut up. No more excuses about why we can’t win against the Left; no more excuses about why you didn’t do what you said you would do. The time to act is now, and I believe if we do it right, 2024 is going to be the year when the parents across this country finally fight back.” “Now it can be done, because I can tell you in Florida, we have shown what winning looks like,” he added. “We have beat the Left on issue after issue after issue. And we were able to deliver the greatest Republican electoral triumph in our state’s history in November of 2022. This can happen nationally. We will win these battles all across the nation.”
