Jasper (bottom, black and tan) and Bee (brown and white, left) have a new friend, Star (brown and white, top right)! Bee took it hard when my cat passed away a few weeks ago. They were good friends, and without her cat friend, Bee was getting too much in Jasper's space, making him grumpy. so I reached out to the local shelter, and we had a play date. the girls hit it off immediately. Jasper took a minute to realize *two* girls might be better than one, but he got there. and after a few days' trial together, they were inseparable. this is the 2 week mark, we've officially adopted Star!
We had to take Rose to the vet on Friday because she stopped eating hay and started having diarrhea. Diagnosis: intestinal parasite and gas in her stomach. She's on antiparasitic meds, antibiotics to prevent secondary infection, and a nutritional supplement to replace the hay she isn't eating. She takes the tiny doses of the meds ok, but she's not a fan of the supplement.  We had a lot of trouble until we figured out how to get her burrito towel wrapped correctly. She's starting to do better. More normal poops, started nibbling hay, and she stopped fighting the supplement. Daisy and Rose are inconsolable because we had to separate them until Rose is all better. The gateway between the pens is closed now and they keep pulling on it like they're trying to pull it open.

These are babies that we foster for the local animal wellfare. Their mother never really recovered from giving birth but the boys are doing great! More than 200 very hungry animals were found at the home of the deceased owner. Mostly guinea pigs, rats and snakes. We took 3 females in, who were very close to giving birth. They each had 2 babies the day after we got them! Support your local animal wellfare if you can! Even a small amount goes a long way!

https://kick.com/fuzzyfish These piggies are from a rescue operation. The owner who was found dead, had 35 guinea pigs. They were used as food for their snake keeping. Snakes, guinea pigs and rats found at the location were all in very bad condition. Some of the guinea pigs were so hungry that they had started eating each others ears! We took in the three females who were closest to give birth. They had their babies the day after we got them! This ol' boy's name was Stux. He made it from 2016 to 2023; a 7 year run!
The piggies are liking that spring is in the air! Grown Elder is a favourite but only while its still young. Later in the summer they won't really care for it
Shes barely 3 months old and braver than most piggies here!
