How did your prerelease go?
  • attemptX attemptX 3mo ago 100%

Went 2-1-0 with blue green blink. I was afraid it would be too slow to get going, but I had enough removal to keep the aggro decks in check. Special mention to the 3/3 reach that bounces a permanent when it enters, getting to use the bite effect on hunter's talent several times felt amazing !

It's prerelease weekend! Tell me your Wilds of Eldraine prerelease stories, decklists, and cool card pulls!
  • attemptX attemptX 1y ago 100%

I went 3-0 with UB faeries. Lots of removal and evasive creatures, with a few big beaters at the top end of the curve. The only game I lost was against a BR rats deck that got an explosive start.

Really liked the set overall, the games felt really interactive. It was my first time playing in a limited environment with adventure cards, and the amount of card advantage they provide is impressive !

That looks like Pygmy by Chuck Palahniuk. If so you are reading something from the point of view of an indoctrinated child from a fictional foreign country. It's a fun read, if you don't mind the broken english !

  • Last week I stumbled upon [this article](https://www.channelfireball.com/article/whats-an-optimal-mana-curve-and-land-ramp-count-for-commander/e22caad1-b04b-4f8a-951b-a41e9f08da14/), and tweaking my decks to better fit this template has made them run SO MUCH smoother. Of course I wasn't running enough lands, and my curves weren't as tight as they could be. The idea behind this template is to curve out the best you can, with the assumption that games end at turn 7. The template also assumes that you want to play your commander as fast as possible, which is why there is no spell at the mv of your commander in the curve. This also means that if you play a commander with a mana value of less than 4, you shouldn't play 2mv-ramp spells (like signets), because it would throw off your curve. If your commander has a mana value of 3, ramping on turn 2 won't make you cast it faster, so you better spend your mana on something else. Remember that this is only a template, and it does not cover every possible type of deck. My [Aesi](https://archidekt.com/decks/4447595/aesi) landfall deck runs 43 decks instead of the 38 recommended by the template (and should probably run even more), while my [Veyran](https://archidekt.com/decks/4442365/veyran) storm deck only runs 31 (but has lots of cheap card draw and plays MDFC cards). For these edge cases I recommend you [this article](https://www.channelfireball.com/article/how-many-lands-do-you-need-in-your-deck-an-updated-analysis/cd1c1a24-d439-4a8e-b369-b936edb0b38a/) by the same guy, where he explains in more details the formula he used to create this tempate. He also wrote [an article](https://www.channelfireball.com/article/how-many-sources-do-you-need-to-consistently-cast-your-spells-a-2022-update/dc23a7d2-0a16-4c0b-ad36-586fcca03ad8/) about how many color sources you should run to consistently cast colored spells, but none of my decks have more than two colors so I can't talk to quality of it. Hope this is as informative to you as it was to me !

What's your flavor win of the day? (Cute plays brag thread)
  • attemptX attemptX 1y ago 100%

Playing [[Smite the deathless]] to get rid of the opponent's [[Witch-King of Angmar]] was quitte flavorful. Especially the "loses indestructible" part that specifically gets around the witch-king's ability to become indestructible at instant speed !

Just came back to social media from exile. What's new?
  • attemptX attemptX 1y ago 100%

I'm gonna assume you've been exiled since 2014, since it is the year Meandering Towershell was first printed.

Regarding social media, the Fediverse is on the rise because Elon Musk bought Twitter and Reddit is killing 3rd party apps.

Regarding Magic, commander is now the main format, there's a new set every month, and you can play with Transformers.

Vu spider-man : across the spider-verse, j'en suis sorti déçu. Visuellement il est très bien, mais j'ai eu l'impression de regarder deux heures de mise en place pour la suite. J'aurais préféré que le film soit plus "autonome", qu'il raconte une histoire entière avec un vrai dénouement.

I am currently working on Mogis, god of Slaughter rakdos enchantment "everything hurts" decklist. I'm having trouble actually winning games, but I really enjoy being "the problem" !

As far as LotR cards go, Spiteful Banditry will be the main addition to it. I'm also picking up Fiery Inscription for my izzet spellslinger deck.

Nethroi, apex of death seems like an obvious choice for creature reanimation. You can also try Anikthea, hand of Erebos for enchantment reanimation, which can get pretty staxy.
