In case you consider using the AMD `pstate` frequency scaling driver... Make sure to use `amd_pstate=active`. I tried `amd_pstate=passive` originally but, even with performance governor it would severely throttle at high-fps gaming. I often got 20-30 FPS lower than what the active or even the default `acpi` driver gave me during spiderman remastered. There is also `amd_pstate=guided` but I haven't tried that. CPU is 5800x3D and I usually play at 80-140FPS in that game so I'm thinking the load was not managed well by the passive one. [\#linux\_gaming](https://kbin.social/tag/linux_gaming)

With Nvidia making progress on NVK, but still having proprietary DLSS, while AMD has great Linux drivers but they ignore them while pushing FSR-only on game devs...
I'm just so conflicted about what kind of GPU I'd like to have and which company I would like to support a few years down the line.

I would find that very cool, but I'm not sure if I'd have the courage to say no to owning a nice house and having an earlier retirement just to flip off wotc and receive a ton of hatemail :/.
