This shit is why end to end encryption is so important.

All platforms, no matter how trustworthy, can be corrupted. No e2e, no privacy.

  • maxinstuff maxinstuff 3mo ago 15%

It’s been clear for some time that centrists are sick of being screamed at and called nazis by an increasingly noisy far-left contingent.

If you genuinely think the Republican Party are fascist nazis… I mean there is simply no discussion that will be productive.

I don’t know much about this person, but I do know the media code-word “embattled” is only used when you’re circling the drain.

  • maxinstuff maxinstuff 3mo ago 90%

Are we talking consumed for their own use? Or consumed as part of delivering cloud services to their customers?

These are very different things. The former would be horrifying the latter would be misleading in the extreme.

  • Switzerland mandates all software developed for the government be open sourced
  • maxinstuff maxinstuff 3mo ago 50%

This doesn’t seem like a big deal?

The fact the code is open sourced is much less significant than the fact now the Swiss government will need to negotiate complete ownership of any software they commission.

That’s going to make things more expensive for them, and limit the vendors prepared to work with them.

    Their systems, their call 🤷‍♂️

Largest UK public sector trial of four-day week sees huge benefits, research finds
  • maxinstuff maxinstuff 3mo ago 6%

Your competitors are willing to work 5 days.

The studies mean nothing, they’re all done in vacuums with government or very sheltered (or overfunded) companies.

It cannot work until it’s legislated (like the 40 hr work week was).

Largest UK public sector trial of four-day week sees huge benefits, research finds
  • maxinstuff maxinstuff 3mo ago 11%

    This old chestnut again.

It’s always some government department or tech company sitting on a pile of VC money.

Easy to make it work when the people were barely working in the first place, and with no competitive pressure.

Let’s see it at a construction project with a real deadline, or at a business in any kind of competitive industry.

Does anyone actually think that day 5 of a work week has a zero or even negative productivity value?

As per the title - how is the user supposed to know whether they are unsubscribing or staying subscribed? No Unsub from all button either - deliberately confusing.
