Meanwhile Lemmy . world mods change the TOS to spite individual communities, ban discussion of piracy despite it being perfectly legal and present on a different instance! Grow up.

The graphic mentions that a decrease in land area on the graphs might also imply increased density of farming, less commercial farming for economic reasons

Comments full of NAFO-Zionist cope. Sinwar, Haniyeh, and every last Hamas leader can be vaporised and a thousand more will fill their places. Hezbollah has continued to repel Israeli invasions into Lebanon, and Israel continues its suicidal death cult genocide despite its 'victories'.

All while self fellating about this somehow meaning the end of Russia? Get the fuck over yourselves, Ukraine had a chance at a peace deal and it got ratfucked by NATO, so now Zelensky is begging for nukes whilst funnelling every last reservist into the collapsing Kursk salient. If you want peace, it won't be negotiated on American terms in either theatre.

Lemmy dot World is truly the most Reddit place outside of Reddit.

If the UK were to punish China over its treatment of Uyghur Muslims, they'd have to contend with

    1. Most of China's policies regarding Muslims in the region are in practice more permissive than the UK's, which would open the UK up to legal cases against its treatment of refugees, immigrants, and Muslims in general.

    2. There is blatantly more evidence of a genocide going on with active UK participation through daily RAF flights over Lebanon and Gaza, which would open them up to domestic rulings against weapons transfers to Israel.

Yup. Both sides of the cold war developed "permissive action links" that allowed forward deployment of nuclear warheads on foreign soil (and to prevent rogue generals who could leverage nuclear weapons for political power domestically). These are what "nuclear codes" refer to, and famously were set to 0000 0000 for the first few years in the US due to fears the codes couldn't be dispersed in time of nuclear war.

Ukraine's warheads were essentially inert, but any detected attempt to break the C&C would've probably prompted an invasion of a scale much larger than the one we're witnessing now, so it made sense for them to transfer the nukes back to Russia.

I mean they DID have nuclear weapons, just that they were under control of the Russian SSR command and control systems. Would've been a lot easier to quickly nuclearise their military by cracking the locks on existing nukes than to engineer an indigenous design.

He's sorta right that Nukes have been the one way a lot of these smaller/geopolitically vulnerable countries have been able to protect themselves.

Libya gave up nukes then gets shit on by NATO, whilst DPRK is able to fend off the modern era US coup bullshit through nuclear proliferation.

US-Israel is desperate to retain the nuclear monopoly in west Asia exactly because it allows Israeli-US forces to move around the area with impunity. Nukes are the ultimate force multiplier in that regard.

As long as nukes exist, they create the conditions for owning them in a circular fashion, because without nuclear weapons you suddenly have no way to deter a conventional invasion beyond a conventional army; And that only works insofar that your neighbours are militarily weaker than you.

That all being said, Ukraine has no route to creating a nuclear weapon beyond a dirty bomb, which even for a NATO proxy would (pun unintended) blow up in their faces spectacularly. All this rhetoric does is heighten Russian nuclear posturing and increase the rate of Russian advances along the front.

Israel is blatantly turning northern Gaza into a death camp, and has killed the THIRD person they were negotiating with in recent months.

Why the fuck would you negotiate with a bloodthirsty ghoul like that?

  • So I've done 3D modelling in 3DS Max and I'm currently learning blender, and I'm beginning to look at creating more detailed models and learning about stuff such as managing topology. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEj1uHSu1Bw I've noticed in videos such as this, instead of merging the meshes together and managing the topology of each detail/element, the modeller just creates a new mesh. Is this right? Or is there some benefit to combining these details into one "monolithic" mesh and then fixing any topology issues. Is there much performance or other downside to creating multiple separate meshes like in the video? Am I overthinking this?

Classic video from 2018 by @NeighborDemocracy. Not sure how the material conditions have changed since then, though this was shortly after the invasion of Afrin canton by Turkish forces.

If youve used Prowlarr, you might have experienced cloudflare blocking access to certain trackers. There's a docker-based solution called cloudsolverr which automatically bypasses these cloudflare challenges by spinning up a headless chromium browser. Main issue is it's heavy on resources (I have an rpi4b) and doesn't have an easy native setup (I've not had time to practice with docker stuff yet). Is there a manual way for me to resolve these cloudflare challenges so I can add the trackers? It's mainly for public shit like 1337x just to fill out my access to TV shows where my other trackers fail or get rate-limited.

Incredibly impressive for a platform that hasn't even hit Debian stable yet. This is using box64, an ARM/RISCV translation layer for x86 apps on Linux, not unlike "Rosetta" on MacOS.
