Viewing cross posts is probably my favourite feature for 2.0 so far. It’s been a little over a week, and I can’t believe I used Lemmy without it!

Ba Le is good! Banh Mi Saigon goes that extra little bit. Would be fun for ya to try both and compare 🫡

Banh Mi Saigon has amazing Vietnamese subs.

Vennie’s subs also has really good subs. A little pricey, but worth it every now and then.

Angel, Hannibal, Evil, Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul.

So many great shows out there. I’m currently watching The Wire and it’s amazing too.

Try running akonadictl restart. I tried that earlier and it seemed to allow me to load the mail app and add accounts to the calendar app.

I’ve been trying to install it last night on Fedora, there’s all sorts of missing akonadi errors. Maybe it’s broken for Fedora, but I am not seeing a lot of support with it.

Telegram needs to enable e2ee by default, cause the way it is now, you may as well not have it.

I mean that is a fair point. But open source client only matters if people were using Telegram’s secret chats consistently. The closed source server is what’s most important when almost all communication happens plain text.

You can hide your phone number now with the release of usernames in Signal. Still need it for registration tho.

I suspect that’s because Telegram’s marketing and it’s users consistently try to place Telegram in the same categories as actually secure and encrypted messengers. Whereas I don’t see tech blogs claiming that FB messenger is secure.

Maybe it’s different on Android or Desktop/Web. On iOS it’s more than 2 clicks. And it’s tucked away. It would be surprising to me if the UI is that inconsistent across different platforms. But I can’t know for sure. So I will defer to the subject matter experts on Telegram.

It’s 100% not just two clicks. You make it sound easier than it really is. But there’s no way for a new or infrequent user to know where it is unless they explore a bit or even knew to look for it. It’s hidden away behind a hamburger menu.

In my OP, I was merely referring to how FB Messenger and Telegram functions the same.

Speaking to the protocol used for encryption is a moot point… because even if MTProto 2 was better, it’s still not enabled by default in both messengers.

Right. But it’s also not exactly “easy” which is what you’re saying it is.

If easy was a sliding scale. Easy would be enabled by default. Hard would be making it obscure and hard to find. I would say it’s definitely closer to the harder to find side. But that’s just me. But 3 clicks, and having to switch chats and maybe delete the old one to avoid confusion, none of that is easy.

I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm noticing on the latest beta, that some posts (haven't found a pattern) will open to a completely unrelated post. Actually... usually it's related to !TenForward@lemmy.world, I'm not sure why (I could be wrong too). It's something I've noticed maybe 5-6 times in the last couple of weeks? I've linked to a screen recording, hopefully it's obvious to you [@CreatureSurvive@lemmy.world](https://lemmy.world/u/CreatureSurvive)

Latest share action to Open Lemmy links in Arctic is super handy! Thank you @creaturesurvive@lemmy.world ! I notice that “Open In Arctic” has “in” capitalized, but every other share action on iOS seems to be sentence case. Any way you can make the new Arctic action match the other share actions? 🙏

The latest icon in TestFlight is gorgeous! I am loving the ~~mountain~~ iceberg 😍 is there anyway we can get a few variations though? I would love to get that mountain on a orange or reddish background if that’s simple to do 🙏

    Split Tunneling on Linux

I'm trying to use ProtonVPN to set up split tunneling so that my `tun0` is the only network device that is protected by ProtonVPN. I need this because I have file & web servers running on this Linux box (Ubuntu). With previous VPNs I've used, I would use OpenVPN and add to the openvpn config and this work the way I intended: ``` route-nopull route 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 ``` With other VPNs I'd just run ``` curl --interface tun0 ip.me ``` And that would return a VPN ip address. For some reason, ProtonVPN seems to be blocking me from using the same workflow. Is there a working guide for ProtonVPN to do what I'm trying to do?

Is there anyway to display the name and instance of the OP for a post in the Home feed? I see the name displayed for Community feeds.

The biggest feature I notice missing in almost all Lemmy apps, is jumping to the top on the first tap of the tab icon of the view you’re in. E.g. you’ve scrolled down a bit while in the Posts tab, then you tap the Posts icon, in Apollo, it would jump to the top of the list view in Posts, then second tap would take you to the communities subscribed slideout view. Avelon does the second function but not the first. Would love to see this added as it’s a great quality of life feature IMO.
