Hey everyone.] So update 98/99 has gone live which fixes the crashes (thanks for the reports). I'm gearing up for a pretty sizable release but just wanted to check in and ask if there was any issues you're having that I should know about or any new feature requests. I have two accounts in the app. One of them, if I go to Settings > General has "Drawer Navigation" and "Bottom Navigation" My other account doesn't have these options at all.
This happened before and then got fixed. I'm not sure what's wrong but if I try to update anything in my account settings I get a network error, unable to save message. For anything in account settings I need to go to my instance directly on a browser and then update and it'll be picked up by sync. This hasn't worked for months and I'm hoping someone here has an idea of what might be wrong.
Hi! I would really appreciate a feature allowing Sync to open Lemmy posts from e.g. my browser. I'm not an Android dev so I do not have a clue of how feasible this is, but it'd make me really happy :) Anyways, appreciate the work you're doing, please don't burn yourself out too much
[Given the issue viewing local community comments I'm sadly considering seeing how other apps have matured since I started using Sync.](https://sh.itjust.works/post/25779506) If I stop my sub, but then it gets fixed and I want to come back, will I lose my user tags, etc? Has anyone tried? (also, Lj, if you see this it's nothing personal, still the best designed app)
Anyone else experiencing this? I can* view the posts fine but any post to a community on my instance will not show comments (despite a comment count).
Heyo! I’ve been using Sync for Lemmy for a while and noticed that the app hasn’t been updated in about 3/4 months. So I was kind of wondering if the development of sync is still ongoing? Additionally, there were some premium features that the developer had promised would come pretty soon, but they still haven’t been added to to sync. Just curious if anyone knew anything! Perhaps he's just busy with life atm.
Ok so... I was thinking about this in the Sync for Reddit app originally... Maybe the "feature" I'm thinking of already exists and you all already know it but... I've blocked like... A *shitload* of people (on sync for reddit... Mostly... But here too sort of) ... Anyways... *Occasionally* I want to reconsider a blocking and I would appreciate if there an easy way to view, review, and revise that list within Sync for Lemmy... If it already exists, my apologies to LJ

As in title - woke up today and sync closes instantly after opening. trying a re-install now. Edit: thanks all for your feedback. The culprit was Canary Webview. I uninstalled it and everything's ok again. All apps working fine.
Basically what the title says. I first noticed that maybe 2 weeks ago, instead of showing the vote count of the post, Sync just shows me a blank space between the up- and downvote arrows:  Has this something to do with Lemmy or Sync itself? Has anyone else noticed that?
On my pixel whenever I use the pull to right gesture to go back on a post the background will be black. However, if I use the back button or system back gesture the background shows the previous screen. On my tab both gestures show the previous screen, so it's not a general thing I guess...
**Scenario** (steps to reproduce)** 1. View instance list from the main page 2. Select a smaller instance with communities that may not be federated 3. Look at the list of most recent posts 4. Tap the community name of a post from the list (this is only possible if you have this setting enabled: [Settings shortcut: Link handling > Tap communities to open](sync-settings://7-inline_subreddits) 5. See if it takes you to correct community **Result(s)** Some results lead to entirely different communities. **Device information** Sync version: v24.03.26-14:56 Android: 14
I'm glad the people from Danelund and Germandy are doing their thing on Lemmy but I don't know what the fuck any of it means and it makes for a lot of block button tapping. A toggle would be very nice. I know I can view subscribed and there's ways around this but I want an "all" feed I can read all of, with fewer taps. Sync is great, thanks for everything!
I am axtive in communities that requite uploading images, but i haven't been able to properly upload any images using Sync in months. The communities are across multiple instances, so I believe it is a Sync issue.
Pretty much the title. There's plenty of things that need to be addressed and as a sync ultra paying customer I feel that the Dev should at least try to maintain their software. Curious if anyone else has tried emailing him?
Am I missing something? Yesterday there was a visible vote count next to each comments username. Today there is nothing. Maybe a setting I accidentally changed? I can't for the life of me figure it out.
Sometimes I want to find a post I viewed a while ago. I can hide read posts, but is there any way to view read posts? I can't find anything in any menus.
Is there a setting that might resolve the issue attached, where really long comment threads get squished into illegibility?
The linked post essentially performed a benchmark of lemmy apps and if they properly display the formating options available. Sync got 3rd last place, position 18 out of 20 apps, with a score of 6.9 out of 10. There's a [comment ](https://lemmy.world/comment/11514952) that essentially contains the test set. I hope we get some fixes, cause some of the problems have been around for a while. In my personal experience the issues with spoiler tags, and some of the embedded images and their sizes is rather annoying. For example [this comment](https://discuss.tchncs.de/post/19910529/12087607) shows perfectly fine on desktop, but becomes a garbled mess on sync (as you can tell by my comment, blaming the bot). Also note that while sync technically gets 3/3 for the images, the last image should be text-sized between the "arrows". It isn't, it's just huge (and consequently a pixelated mess). I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I figured there would probably be an easy way to do this but I haven't been able to figure it out. Suppose I have a bang-syntax community such as "!syncforlemmy@lemmy.world" copied to my clipboard. How do I open this community within Sync? Everything I've found so far just searches for this as text.
Idk why it stopped working but it did. I tried clearing the cache and turning the setting off and on again. It still doesn't work.
Since yesterday, posts and comments have stopped showing vote counts. Is this a bug with Sync or did I press something I didn't mean to?
I was looking through my Pi-hole logs and a strange URL is regularly coming up that I can't figure out what it is used for. `ap.syncforreddit.com` Does anyone have any insight?

Trying to share an article through signal doesnt work for me. Anyone else has this issue? 1. Click on article so it opens in webview 2. Click share icon 3. select receiver & press send 4. Nothing happens
I added a second lemmy account to Sync and on that second account posts aren't marked as read after I opened them. Sometimes they get marked as read after a reload, but only sometimes. Is that a bug? Is there a solution?
Hey all, just ran into this this morning, I was replying to a comment and it showed up at the same level as the comment I was replying to until a refresh. I'll see if I can reproduce it for screenshots in a bit. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me so far?
I noticed with QPR3, the back gesture in Sync now shows a black screen during the animation. Could this be fixed? I read it'll become default in Android 15.
On posts that I access through my home instance, i.e. any post present in the "Your local instance" feed, nothing appears in the comments section apart from the message "There are no comments", despite the UI suggesting that there are several. When accessing the post's permalink in the web UI of the instance, the comments show up without issue, even when logged in. To reproduce, log in to sync with a lemm.ee account, switch to local feed and click on any post that appears to have comments. For example: https://lemm.ee/post/35476369 For some reason I haven't been able to replicate this on any other instance (tried with .world and .ml, both of which don't seem to have this issue)

Hi there, It seems that my midwest.social account has stopped showing the upvote count on posts and comments sometime over the last few days. My Lemmy.world and lemm.ee accounts show them fine still. Ive tried logging out and back in and still no dice. Anyone else having this bug? Samsung Galaxy S24, latest play store build.
