I've made many worlds with plate tectonics, it's my favorite method to make maps!
It's outlined very well in this book, my favorite worldbuilding book.
It takes some time, especially your first go at it, but I think it's really fun and adds a lot of realism to the geography.

otherwise we end up with another version of COBOL.
We're already there, I don't see VBA being phased out of accounting or finance for at least a decade and I'm not even sure then.

Another Sys Admin confirming that yes, the finance department runs nearly entirely on VBA. They would be lost without it.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons it's a shit joke. Helps to get the plane right. But exploding heads territory it is not.

As a trans person, you're making quite the stretch when this directly relates to recent news. Not everything regarding delusion and mental health is attacking us "chief".

It's just a non-credible defense meme? It's not attacking human rights or suggesting groups are subhuman, it's not even close to exploding heads. It's just a shit joke about the lost F22 plane?

Thank you for some sanity. Dems are far from perfect but they've done a lot of good and can continue to if we can get more in office.

The word choice of "subrace" is definitely not great but I could see this being used as inspiration for a fantasy creature.

There's all kinds of mutated body horror creatures in ttrpg's it's not that weird.
I'm working on a half-slug half-man adventure module for instance.

Well now I have to see it, what's Spock's Brain? Is that the name of an OT episode? Haven't made my way through the OT yet.

the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, reported last year that roughly 20% of Americans have medical debt
I'm honestly shocked it's only 20%.

I had to skip all episodes with her
So like, some of the most important episodes to the Bajoran story lines? What? I hate her too but, what? lol

And it was this comment that got me to realize it's the same actress. Amazing I never saw that before. Albeit I haven't seen Over the Cuckoo's Nest in like over ten years but still lol

Lol arguably, you can actually walk around the interior of your ship in SC. The FPS portions are pretty good. But last time I played (like two years ago) I fell through a staircase.
I should give it another go soon.

Edit: I just saw that another person already posted an article about this six or so hours before this from another news agency, so that's my bad mods. I'll try to check more thoroughly next time 😅 Summary: >Kotek and the Oregon Business Council will convene a panel of local elected officials, business executives and civic leaders beginning later this month... >Dan McMillan, president of insurance company The Standard, will co-chair the task force with the governor. >A final roster of confirmed participants will be forthcoming... Mayor Ted Wheeler and Multnomah County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson have both been invited to join... >The first meeting of the task force will take place Aug. 22, and the group will reconvene in September and October, according to the governor’s office. The group plans to issue a series of recommendations at the Oregon Plan Business Leadership Summit in December.
Most instances have a Kofi or something equivalent where you can give some money to help the instance admins. But I didn't see any links like that while poking around in the side bars. Does this instance have something like that and I'm missing it? Or are the costs of running this instance not at a point where that kind of assistance is necessary? I don't have a lot of money but appreciate the work that goes into maintenance of an instance, so I like to toss a few bucks here and there to the ones I use when I can.
Hi, I'm Dee. I was browsing through the various instances to join up with because I was tired of all the downtime with lemmy.world and I wanted to start using Lemmy as it was intended (spreading accounts out among more instances). That, and Beehaw hasn't been quite as engaging since defederation with lemmy.world and other large instances (which is why I went back to the lemmy.world account in the first place). I get why they defederated and I support their decision, it just was an overall negative impact for me in my Beehaw experience since I was in so many other communities outside of Beehaw. This instance seemed chill, it blocks Threads and exploding heads so that's a great first impression. There's a few more instances I'd like to see added to the block list but that's a good enough start for me to get comfy here. The low user count has made everything just run so much quicker than with lemmy.world and I can still enjoy the same communities. Happy to have found this place that appears to be here for the long haul and I'm looking forward to getting to know the local instance community more! **Edit:** Sorry for triggering the snowflakes in the comments and for them feeling the need to provide substantial proof for why so many other instances defederate from them by default.
