When I took acid as a teenager in the 90s, I was tripping balls and realized that entertainment or anything that occupies that mind that we enjoy, in essence makes time seemingly go by faster. Therefor, the more you entertain your brain, the quicker you approach your demise. It really groundbreaking for me at the time. I swore I might just stare at a clock for the rest of my days just to make time seemingly like it passes slower to savor my mortality lol

It’s been about 20+ years since I’ve seen that one but great flick! There wasn’t anything like it at the time it came out.

Oh wow I forgot about this one and was randomly trying to think of it the other day. I remember it being pretty good but also a little meh. Maybe had some better expectations but I can hardly remember the film. Might be worth another revisit. Thanks for the rec

Oh wow thanks for the extensive list! I’ve seen about half of the ones in your list and will check out the link. I also recently watched The Witch by Eggers. That was a creepy good one.

Ohhhh good one. I remember always liking this one back when it came out and I did a rewatch a few years ago. Still held up!

Seeing the clown toy come alive and trying to attack that kid absolutely traumatized me.

I’m gonna have to give this another view. It was traumatizing to see as a child and I haven’t revisited it since.

That’s a tough one to think about actually. I guess off the top of my head, I would say https://belmontdallas.com/
It’s a kitschy old school style hotel in oak cliff and I believe it has some nice views of downtown Dallas. It’s been a number of years since I’ve been though.

Oh ok. No but I do follow you as I am sure there are plenty of calls being intercepted by our govt agencies. I guess I am trying to wrap my head around who would use AI voice technology for that purpose? Enemies within the country of the foreign leaders that hack into their specific phone lines?

Yeah that’s something another commenter mentioned. Thanks for the math. I think it’s time to say goodbye to this old thing…
Maybe I’ll try this on my big fridge next. It’s getting close to 20 years old itself but functions fine.

Yeah that’s kinda what I am doing. If I’m using this energy monitor thing right, the fridge is on Day 9 and has used 20.32 kWhs

Thanks for the info. Will def check this out!
I have a 24 year old mini fridge that’s still alive and kicking. It’s a model that actually also has a freezer compartment. I’ve been thinking about replacing it - especially since the freezer portion no longer works. But I was also curious how much more energy efficient fridge tech has gotten in the past 20 years? Like would I make up the cost of a new mini fridge pretty quickly based off the less power consumption? I actually have one of those electricity monitors hooked up to it logging the data and I’m still kinda researching - but thought hey I’ll just ask c/nostupidquestions and maybe someone here might know right off the dome! Thanks in advance

After accidentally sitting on my favorite pair today and destroying them, it got me wondering how many pair of shades I’ve owned in my lifetime. I’m just gonna go with a round number and say about 50. I only buy cheap sunglasses btw

A very new obsession for me. Been trying to make the perfect smashburger in my cast iron. Nothing fancy. Store bought buns and frozen fries cooked in the air fryer. I hope to step up my game!
