The success of the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Salah, Robben, etc., makes me wonder why they aren't used more at top clubs. They're versatile, create and score a lot, and subvert the opponent's defensive tactics. So why aren't they more popular? Are they hard to find or train? I trained with a NCAA D1 team, and they utilized inverted wingers, so did a lot of the teams in the conference. So I'm assuming coaches see a lot of value. What are your thoughts?
