Tresorit is expensive but the client works really well. Mounts to local storage then run grsync to backup everything.

$10 a month for the rest of my life seems expensive.

The freedom to run their own country whether that's into the ground or into prosperity its the right of the vietnamese to self govern. How you correlate colonialism and democracy as the same thing is interesting.

Get an ir usb receiver like a flirc and just use a normal remote. I think flirc even sells a remote.

Thanks this makes sense. Sounds sketchy as fuck so I'll just be sticking with torrents lol.
There's so many providers and sketchy ppl you can pay for access to IPTV and there's even plenty of free playlists that provide tons of content. Who's actually providing these services and how does it work that theres so many middlemen/resellers?

When cfw for ps3 came out you needed either a ti-84 calculator or an iphone to put the firmware on the console. I had an iphone so installed ubuntu on my pc so i could dual boot ios and android on the phone then replace android with the cfw. I never even knew there was anything but windows back then.

My statement was far too broad for it to be "setting a bar of entry". YouTube is trying to squeeze its viewers for every drop they can without having uploaders and im obviously not talking about the little guy here shoulder any of that cost. Who in your mind is responsible for the cost associated with lets say a Mr Beast video? Is it Mr Beast or is it the viewer? I think it's both.

Youtube is squeezing one party really hard while pretending the other party doesn't owe shit to keep their monopoly. Start charging uploaders. If YouTube needs to up what they're earning because of things like bandwidth cost and what not make uploaders cover some of that cost. They're a business making money off of the platform so charge them.

Same issue switched to x11 and it worked fine. Even before it stopped launching it ran like shit on Wayland from launch. Real disappointing coming from Valve. If they can't properly support native linux support who can.

They grow your food and usually make shit you need to survive because they can be taken advantage of. This creates a culture where they don't always have as much or access to the same things urban dwellers do. What a condescending statement to make.

I think it's just a certain type of person the non tech savvy type that are prone to getting scammed. Gen Z's life is more internet/tech focused than the boomers so there's more of them to scam.

Just built a new fancy desktop couldn't get kodi to play any audio. Looked into alternatives found stremio and god damn is it easy to setup. Plus you can just make an account sign in on other devices and its all setup just like w.e machine you originally used.

Monopolies is what causes this. Capitalism is just the enabler. But don't kid yourself if you think the rich don't gatekeep certain things in "communist" countries.

Something I don't understand is why is a specific number tied to the minimum wage. Is there not a legitimate mathematical way to calculate "minimum wage" depending on where you live and your local economy?

Im not surprised. For years we all enjoyed a ton of "free" services but eventually these companies would have to make money.

Problem is youtube is a platform that pays its content creators. It won't ever happen. If discord ever decides they want to be profitable then that'll be next.
