I thought the word sulfur and dried fruit were already connected in my head, and went and checked my bag of apricots, which says they are treated with "sulfur dioxide (sulfites)". I can't read the whole article, but a Wikipedia search doesn't seem to imply sodium metabisulfite is much worse than Sulphur dioxide. Both are talked about as if they are in active use all over the world. Do you have any extra detail on why this is a notable enough case to warrant an article? The paywall got me before I could find that out

Goji, goji berry, or wolfberry (Chinese: 枸杞; pinyin: gǒuqǐ) is ... [from wikipedia]
I can't read most of the article due to paywall, but I thought many dried fruits had sulfur something something in them to preserve color. I wonder if this is just an extreme version of that

So it's the coating, and that fruits labeled organic (at least in US?) don't use animal derived coatings. I think Whole Foods mentions what wax they use, but when I shop other places I guess I gotta lean organic just in case. Bummer

Always looking for new pancake recipes! We like a cinnamon oat one from a book I don't have on hand, and this corn one, what's in yours?

Interesting. I had heard that Germany was easier to be vegan than a lot of other European countries, bit it looks pretty in-line with its neighbors, and trailing Poland.

Looks amazing and sounds pretty easy, I'm definitely going to need to try that! You didn't need to add any flour or anything to the tofu to get it to firm up in the oven?

Do you get yours straight from the manufacturer? Last few I've gotten from Amazon had suffered quite a bit of crushing
I'm still working on layering when what blooms to make sure I have flowers all summer long, but it looks like these guys are up next

Well it's hard to say, the early birds got the saskatoons and I only got 2 (two!). They're blueberry like, maybe a bit less tart and a bit creamier(?). Definitely looking forward to meet years crop!

Ive never heard of rattlesnake beans, looks fun! I mostly have just been putting perennial fruits in the ground, I've got raspberries, blueberries, Saskatoons, and elderberries. I might start some annuals next year

I like the little mini fences, very cute! What kind of beans are you growing?
I've got floricane raspberries, and the canes for next year seem very small and underdeveloped compared to the ones I just harvested this years berries off of. Is it normal that they be so small at this point? Or should I have fertilized them better weeks ago, and is it too late now? This was my first harvesting year, so I'm not sure what's normal at this point.
