I was wondering this, as well. Apparently Kamala says she worked at McDonald's previously and Trump claims that she's lying. Since that matters for some reason, he's working at McDonald's to draw attention to the alleged lie.

I think that's what's happening, but don't take the above as gospel.

My wife has woken me up several times because I was saying "no no no no no no" in my sleep. It's not loud enough to disturb anyone not in the room and I live in a pretty rural area anyway, so I've wondered in the past whether I did that with any regularity before I shared a bed with anyone.

The existence of rugged smart watches seems fairly likely, but I can't comment on that.

However, I can tell you every smart watch I've ever owned (which admittedly isn't that many) has some form of protective case available and replacing a case is a lot cheaper than replacing a smart watch. Example (no affiliation, just randomly selected):

    https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Compatible-Scratch-Resistant-Flexible/dp/B0CSD5RM97/

Do note that this might interfere with some functionality of the watch. For example, I previously had a Fitbit Charge 2 (IIRC) which offers an ECG function. However, it relies on conductive pads on its body for that. All the cases I found blocked those pads which meant the scan wouldn't work. Everything else worked fine, though.

I only have a vague memory of this because it was a single comment I read on TV Tropes a decade or more ago, but weren't some or all of the requirements lifted to allow that? IIRC, Superman wouldn't have met the requirements because of a "lack of a warrior's spirit." No idea regarding Wonder Woman.

Because, even if what you're doing now is fine, moral and legal, it might not be perceived as that later, whether by your friends, neighbors or government. This has become especially relevant in recent years. Even if your own opinion shifts to match later trends, your past actions might hurt you.

You might be doing nothing wrong and still jeopardize your future self.

Originally they started the title with ... Sigh ... A hashtag. In markdown, starting a line with this makes it a header, which generally increases the size of the text. Probably your client tried to respect this, though I think it's unusual for a client to do that for a post title.

I have heard, but never in any way verified, that there was code that tried to identify whether you were running 95 or 98 by looking for a version starting with 9. If true, it would mean some code might treat Windows 9 as 95/98.

I know it's just a typo, but the image "alients" conjured in my head is pretty funny. I have less than zero artistic talent or I'd share it with you all. Hopefully the mental image is enough.

Ah, I've never encountered anyone else using the latter.

Did you know that Brad Pitt claims it?

edit: So do I, in case anyone thinks I'm being disparaging.

Sorry if not. I was on Reddit for a lot of years and enjoyed most of them, I really did. Almost all of that was through the Reddit is Fun app, it was one of the few apps I liked enough to pay for it. I stopped opening RiF the day the API incident happened and I switched to here (using Connect, after some experimentation, because the UX was most similar to RiF). I wasn't confident we would gain enough users to make it worthwhile to switch, but I wanted to try and I didn't want to support spez. Just this morning I told my wife that we probably had several thousand users, then a few hours later I saw a post saying we had almost 1.5 million. That's amazing! I struggled a bit with Lemmy when I started using it, but either Lemmy or I evolved - probably both - and now it's a wonderful experience to open every day. Y'all are great and I appreciate your presence. edit: Probably should have said it in the original message, but in case it wasn't explicit: thank you all.
